Schroeder continues her For Your Love series, following Under Your Skin (2016), and exemplifies the best of new adult romance with this realistic and sexy Chicago tale. Emma is a kindergarten teacher determined to have a secure, steady relationship to erase memories of working in bars with her mother and enduring periods of homelessness. When her car breaks down, Sean O'Malley rides over on his motorcycle to help her. They start casually dating, enjoying BBQs and sleeping together until Emma tells him she needs to find a mature, steady man. Sean has gone through three mechanic jobs in a year and is not sure he can be the trustworthy man Emma wants, though he is willing to try. Emma knows she has to deal with her insecurities about the past, and the two try to forge a future, even as they cope with some breakup bumps.
